11X7 Color Laser Printer

Many businesses using conventional printers today can benefit from upgrading to an 11X17 color laser printer.  These printers, often called tabloid printers, can print on larger sizes of paper so that you don’t need to shrink down documents to fit onto smaller letter sized paper.

Several different kinds of 11×17 color laser printers are available.  An 11×17 color laser printer is good for printing text and line art, and when purchased in a color version, can be great for color illustrations as well.  If you need to print photos, a larger ink jet printer is probably a better choice: While usually not as fast as a laser printer, they can print photos in a more high resolution and realistic way.  Often a larger ink jet printer can print up to 13 by 19 inches which means that it can do full bleed 11×17 which means printing all the way to the edges with absolutely no white borders!

Another less common option is a dye sublimation printer that uses wax based inks injected into the paper to make a vivid print out.  Most people are very satisfied with the size and quality that they get from adding an 11×17 printer to their home or office.  Unfortunately, both the printers and the inks and papers are more expensive so many people continue to use a smaller printer for their normal printer, and save the 11×17 printer for more important documents in order to save money.  Another option is to buy a used large format printer on which you can often find a great price.
